Abstract:
Where the domestic becomes myth, and the absurd becomes sacred. Painted figures trespass into the ritual space of La Scoba. They don’t just visit they haunt, they observe, they rearrange.
Gussman’s pseudonym, @unnecessaryelaboration , births a cast of abstracted beings, strange-eyed, off-balance, unbothered. They move like echoes, like unfinished prayers. Together, they turn the home into something ceremonial, cinematic, slightly off-kilter.
To sweep is no longer to clean.
It is to claim space. To disrupt. To remember.

El seudónimo de Gussman, @unnecessaryelaboration , da a luz a un elenco de seres abstractos, de ojos extraños, desequilibrados, despreocupados. Se mueven como ecos, como oraciones inacabadas. Juntos, convierten el hogar en algo ceremonial, cinematográfico, ligeramente fuera de loco.

NoMasUno, also recognized as NMU, collaborates with artisans, family workshops, and independent studios whose craft carries generations of skill and cultural heritage. NMU has curated their collection to feature La Scoba, an authored functional object conceived as both a tool and a symbolic presence, for its limited first edition. Each broom is defined by restraint, material clarity, and intentional form. The object emphasizes use while maintaining a quiet, sculptural gravity. Each piece is numbered as part of a finite series and accompanied by an authentication card.

SURFACE
The paintings are constructed as double-sided objects, made from cork and worked with acrylic, pastel, and chalk. Rather than existing solely as images on a wall, they occupy space as physical surfaces, asking to be encountered from more than one position.
The work begins with portraiture but moves away from likeness. Faces and figures are reduced, distorted, and reconstructed through color, line, and material, becoming less descriptions of individuals than records of psychological states.
Each figure holds a kind of emotional residue, a presence without a fixed identity. The two-sided construction extends this instability: no single view contains the whole work. What appears on one side is complicated by what exists on the other, allowing the paintings to shift between image and object, portrait and abstraction, interior state and physical presence.
